Mango farmers were demonstrated how to use Paclobutrazol

On the 27th of September, ICAR-Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow, held a one-day demonstration of Paclobutrazol to mango growers as part of the emeritus scientist scheme in Bharawan village, Malihabad. About 30 farmers from the Malihabad area participated in the event. Dr. V.K. Singh, the Institutes Emeritus Scientist, deliberated the proper use of paclobutrazol in mango orchards as well as traces of paclobutrazol residues in soil and plant systems. To get the most out of Paclobutrazol use, Dr. Singh reiterated that farmers need proper guidance and training on how to apply it. Careful use is not only cost-effective for them, but it is also environmental friendly. Dr. Gundappa, an entomologist, interacted with farmers about the pest outbreak and how to manage them. Farmers were made aware of the importance of using insecticides and paclobutrozol judiciously in order to increase income.
